Kinja'd!!!

Or at least I will at about 7pm eastern. An official father of a 2 year old, which means my gray hairs will keep on coming. [Pic of her favorite HW car in real life.]

I still remember the day the 'stork' brought her to us. When she was born she was so small, teensy even; she was adorable. I actually witness the birth, it's crazy but it instills in you a wonderment about childbirth.

I was the first parent to hold her. I didn't know what to do, so I sang her a song. It was !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! by House of Heroes. Yep, I sang a song about falling in love with a communist woman in WWII to her. It's her song now.

And now she's 2. I've watched her grow taller, crawl forwards for the first time, and even walk. Watching a child grow up is a gift in itself.

Rock on daughter of mine, rock on. \m/.

Happy birthday to her!

My wife and I don't have any kids yet but it's a journey we're hoping to embark on one day. Maybe. Or possibly get a race car.

Happy birthday to your daughter. My youngest turned two on the 25th dec! Yep Christmas day poor kid. Oldest is nearly 7. Being a dad is pretty cool, plus you can get away with dad jokes legally.

It's really the Terrific Twos, if you look at it thru their eyes. They are learning so much about the world around them, how to interact with it, how to make things happen instead of things happening to them. There is a lot of wonderful things happening if you can see it...

Oh, she's been in the terrible two's mindset for a while now. One sunday, at a bible study, she threw a massive fit because we wouldnt let her have a water bottle.

yes valid point , but you do see some little kids go into submarkets and have big tantrums.

i was in local supermarket earlier this week , one little kid just would not stop screaming , i joked to one of the workers , that if that was my child i'd belted him. she just laughed.

as she wasn't too impressed with the child either.

It's fascinating watching them grow up, isn't it? and they are so funny too.

One time driving, I came up to a red light. I stopped, then heard from the backseat "go, go, go". Thinking it was funny, I started saying it too. My wife criticized me and told me not say that anymore during red lights, lol.

Too true, until they can't get their way, :p. Then they get a lesson on patience, and listening to their parents, lol.

....kids for me. Kids are a way to pass on your 'legacy'. I believe if you raised then right, you can know you left the world in better hands.

Plus the stories you'll obtain. Kids are too funny and they do crazy things. One time I looked away from her for just a moment, and she tore off her pjs and was in her diaper, running around.

I'm pretty sure we will end up with kids, but it's been a bit of a joke about getting a race car between us. We were at a party one time, back when we were engaged, and someone's feral children were running around destroying the place. It was getting on a few people's nerves but the parents just didn't do anything about it. So finally I look at my wife and in front of everyone go "Ya know hun, once we're married, we have to make a choice... do we have a few of those, or do I get a race car?" And she looks at the kids, and looks back at me and goes "Racecar!" Shortly after that the parent's scooped up their little animals and left the party.

My daughter never had a terrible stage, so I don't think it's a given that they'll give you hell... but Im 29 and already have a few white hairs.

Ha ha, it's great fun. I'm always playing tricks on them, mostly for amusement but it also helps them learn not to believe everything you see/hear. The oldest has been pulling pranks on me for the last year and a half. Gets me good sometimes.

Ha, I can relate. We have a sheltie named Zeta. Our running joke is that one day we will have a herd of Zeta's. And that we will get around by hooking them up like sled dogs, lol.

Haha. My wife is a social worker who used to work with new born parents. Trust me we have all the safety stuff covered. I think it's going to be me trying to keep my wife from being a helicopter mom. Lol.

Haha, all the safety stuff you can think of at least, :). Kids will always surprise you, especially when they're mobile. But you'll get funny stories to tell then later in life....like when they bring their first bf/gf home, lol.

For example, if my kid hears the word 'bath', she will freak out because she wants a bath at that very moment, and will throw a fit if she doesn't. We've had to use other words, like cupcake time, to reference bath time when she's around. lol.
